• To work within agreed competencies to provide care to patients, e.g., personal care, oral hygiene, toileting, nutrition, and hydration.
Useappropriate manualhandling techniques and equipment whenassistingpatients with transfers, mobility, and positioning.
Assistwith the management of patient continence, bowel and bladder care whilemaintainingpatient privacy and dignity.
Perform nursing procedures under the direction of a trained nurse, including undertaking protective dressings, blood sugar monitoring and routine observations, i.e., urine testing, monitoring temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation monitoring and blood pressure and report abnormal findings in line with local guidelines.
Ensure patients receiveappropriateand adequate nutrition and hydration. Be involved in the documentation, monitoring andassistanceat mealtimes and provide feedback to trained staff.
To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
