Summary
Job Summary:
The Estimator will prepare comprehensive cost estimates for formwork and civil engineering projects, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable. The role demands a detail-oriented approach to analysing project specifications, drawings, and scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project scope to produce detailed and accurate estimates.
- Calculate costs for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor packages specific to formwork and civil engineering works.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Identify and assess potential risks and prepare contingency allowances.
- Prepare tender submissions and assist in negotiations.
- Maintain cost databases and update pricing regularly based on market trends.
- Work closely with project teams to support budgeting and cost control during project delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant field.
- Proven estimating experience within formwork and civil engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, labour rates, and plant costs related to formwork.
- Proficient in estimating software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
