Summary
About the role:
The role of General Foreman will be to assist the Works Supervisors within the South of Powys. Although the work base will be Brecon you will be required to work within two other depots.
Carry out site visits to ensure compliance with Powys County Council Policies. The successful candidate will hold a full driving licence. HGV licence would be desirable.

Good communication and IT skills.
Ability to plan ahead and deliver programmes and reports to tight deadlines.
Ability to deal with the public and councillors in a professional manner.
Ability to travel across the south Powys highway network to carry out site visits.
Ability to work in confidence and with minimum supervision.
What you will do:
Responsible for the supervision of operational works carried out either by the in-house workforce or approved contractors. Responsible for supervising labour, plant and material resources across designated areas.
Support the HGSS Manager and Works Supervisors.
Provide effective leadership and management to ensure operational staff adopt positive team principals of trust, motivation, empowerment and confidence.
Monitor ongoing work to assess if it is being carried out to the standards required.
Manage issues of poor performance with staff to achieve the required standards.
Liaise with members of the public, utilities and suppliers to identify and resolve problems that are not straight forward so work can progress.
Where required take a part in the Winter Maintenance Out of Hours standby rota either as a Supervisor or an LGV Driver.
