Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker (Grade 3) to join our team, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. As a Support Worker, you will provide tailored assistance to clients in a variety of settings, including residential homes, community centers, and potentially individual residences. Your responsibilities will consist of providing personal care, facilitating social inclusion, and promoting independence among clients. The role requires you to build trusting relationships with clients, offering emotional support while encouraging them to engage in daily activities and pursue their personal goals. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each individual receives comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs. Responsibilities
Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
Support clients in maintaining their personal hygiene and grooming.
Assist clients in accessing community resources, activities, and social events.
Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with clients and other professionals.
Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients, fostering positive relationships.
Document client progress and report any changes in health or well-being to appropriate staff.
Assist clients in developing skills for independence, budgeting, and decision-making.
Requirements
Must possess a relevant qualification in health and social care or equivalent experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while supporting individuals with diverse needs.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
Knowledge of basic health and safety regulations and practices in care settings.
A valid driver's license and access to transportation is an advantage.
