Summary

Technical Machine / Engineering Operative - Early Shift
Location: Ilminster
Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
Contract Type: Permanent (from day one)

A trusted recruitment partner is working on behalf of a global leader in nutritional manufacturing to recruit a Technical Machine / Engineering Operative for their early shift team in Ilminster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate modern, high-spec manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain high standards of product quality and compliance
  • Read and follow detailed technical drawings and work instructions
  • Utilise the company's in-house ERP system to manage production tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational machine issues
  • Ensure adherence to internal procedures and regulatory standards related to quality and food/feed safety
  • Work efficiently to keep production lines running at full capacity

Candidate Requirements:


The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience working with machinery or in a mechanical/technical role
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to navigate ERP systems
  • The ability to work independently while also being a reliable team player
  • Access to their own vehicle, as the site is not easily accessible by public transport
