Summary
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE / DUTIES Your role will involve the following service provision: Inpatient care - Providing medical management for all ENT patients at the John Radcliffe/Churchill hospital Emergency ENT service - Including registrar on-call bleep, providing support to on Call SHOs and managing referrals internally (from A&E and other wards) and externally (from primary care and referring hospitals) - Assessing and managing patients on the GP Referral Unit (acute ENT referrals) Outpatient care - Regular ENT clinic based on the sub-specialty firm you are working for. - Supporting Foundation doctors, GP trainees and clinical fellows in running emergency clinics. Theatre - Approximately 2 whole days of theatres per day for improving surgical skills under consultant supervision In addition, there will be opportunities to be involved in the following for educational and training purposes Specialist out-patient clinics ENT operating lists Departmental teaching sessions Clinical Governance meetings Audit, Research and Quality Improvement Anatomy Demonstrating and Medical Student teaching (affiliation with Oxford University)
