This specialist study skills tutor role will be an integral part of our student support team, working directly with students to improve their academic performance.

Position description / Job description

  • Develop individualized learning plans tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Provide academic support focusing on organization, time management, and research skills.
  • Guide students in effective learning strategies and techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with university staff and other support services.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adapt learning plans as needed.
  • Utilize online teaching technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of support services.

Expectations / Requirements

We're looking for you, if:

  • You possess proven teaching experience with students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLDs).
  • You hold a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • You have experience supporting autistic students and possess a deep understanding of their needs.
  • You have a minimum of an undergraduate degree (Level 6).
  • You demonstrate excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • You are proficient in utilizing various online teaching technologies.
  • You are committed to inclusive education and fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Completion of relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules is required (support provided).
