Job summary:

The Governors are looking to appoint a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an independent Clerk to Governors, to support the effective functioning of our governing body and provide confidential administrative support.

As Clerk, you will be responsible for scheduling and supporting all Full Governing Body and Committee meetings, including preparing the agenda, ensuring required documents are available, recording accurate minutes, and ensuring that the work of the Governing Body is efficient, effective, and compliant.

Requirements:

Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent organisational skills including planning, minute taking, and record keeping.
Proficient in using office software (eg Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Experience of providing administrative support in an organisation (school specific training, can be provided). Training is also available via the School Governance Service.
Understanding of the governance and legislative requirements relevant to a school or educational establishment (or a willingness to develop these through training).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
The Governing Body meets approx. 12 times a year. Meetings are planned well in advance and currently take place on Tuesday evenings. The option to work from home and attend meetings remotely can be considered.
