Summary
Job summary: The Health Care Assistant will work as part of the clinical team carrying out a range of duties ensuring that the highest standard of care is afforded to patients at all times. Duties and responsibilities: Undertake routine tasks related to patient care ensuring clinical protocols are followed, referring to GPs when necessary. Routine tasks will include: dressings, removal of sutures, blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy and ECGs. Undertake routine preventative work related to patient care including routine flu, covid, pneumococcal and RSV vaccinations. Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings. Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician. Monitor QOF targets as required and maintain a high standard of achievement. Participate in any relevant health promotion and screening activities to promote the health and wellbeing of patients as well as referring to preventative programmes. Maintain the GP clinical rooms: stock levels are maintained, and items are rotated as necessary and maintain and clean any equipment. Maintain accurate records. Monitor the temperature of the treatment room fridge, ensuring the protocol is followed. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required. Ensure that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff. Notify the GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues. Liaise with and assist members of the administration team. Undertake monthly rooms checks and checks of emergency trolley and GP bags. Action tasks recalling patients for blood tests and future appointments.
