Join Our Caring Team as a Personal Assistant
Location: Gosforth, Newcastle
Reporting to: Direct Payment Employer
Rate of Pay: £15.25 per hour
Start Date: As soon as the right person is found
About the Role
Are you someone who brings kindness, patience, and curiosity to your work? Do you enjoy supporting young people to grow, explore the world and feel valued, confident, and included? If so, I’d love to meet you.
I’m looking for caring and thoughtful individuals to join our small, friendly team of Personal Assistants. You’ll be supporting my two wonderful young people (aged 17 and 19), who are autistic, have a learning disability and need support with their communication.
They are both warm, funny, and full of personality. Whether it’s getting active, exploring the community, or simply sharing a moment of connection, they thrive when supported by people who truly care and want to have fun with them.
You’ll work alongside me (their Mum) or other experienced PAs, offering 1:1 or 2:1 support depending on the shift.
This is a genuinely rewarding role where you’ll be helping two fantastic young people grow in confidence, develop life skills, and have more independence, choice, and control over how they live their lives.
⏰ Shifts Available
Part-time and full-time roles available. Typical shifts are:
Term Time (Mon–Fri):
• 7:00am – 9:00am
• 3:00pm or 3:30pm – 10:00pm
These shifts may be offered as a split shift (morning and evening)
Weekends & School Holidays:
• Early: 9:00am – 7:00pm
• Late: 12:00pm – 10:00pm
52 weeks (term & holidays)
• Night: 9:00pm – 9:00am
✅ We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Has a calm, respectful, and caring approach
Has a great sense of humour and brings positive energy to their work
Enjoys being physically active and can support others to stay active too
Communicates with warmth and patience, including using alternative strategies
Is reliable, emotionally mature, and values inclusion
Respects personal space, routines, and boundaries when working in someone’s home
May or may not have direct experience – having the right values matters the most
What You Need to Know:
Enhanced DBS required (we can support this)
Must have the right to work in the UK
Full induction, training, and support provided
A driver with a clean driving licence is preferred.
