Our success is founded on the quality of academic teaching and research, our thriving campus environments, our professional and pastoral support, and our values of an inclusive, innovative and ambitious community with a strong sense of belonging.

The Team

The Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team is responsible for religious provision and pastoral care for all staff and students. We provide spaces and opportunities for reflection, listening, confidential support, prayer, worship, meditation, socialising and spiritual exploration. In doing this we work closely with teams across the university, from Student Success & Learning to academic schools.

This will include, but is not limited to, hosting regular lunches, facilitating small groups, working in partnership with our other Chaplaincy Assistant and taking an active role in Welcome Week and other university-wide events.

The role is for 8 hours a week term-time only, running from mid-September 2025 to mid-June 2026.

Key Requirements

This role would particularly suit someone exploring a vocation to Chaplaincy and/or ministry in their own faith. The successful candidate will have an outgoing and inclusive nature which embraces interaction with people of all backgrounds. They will demonstrate the ability to build constructive relationships with staff and students, offering sensitivity and warmth to everyone visiting or using the Chaplaincy, regardless of their background, culture or faith.
