Summary

A Vacancy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Join MFT today, as we search for two Clinical Group Directors of Performance and Operations for both:

• The Local Care Organisations & University Dental Hospital of Manchester Clinical Group
• Clinical & Scientific Services Clinical Group

You will be a driven and inspired individual, responsible for the direct delivery of all patient services across both these Clinical Groups – a role that will take your career and experience to another level.

Accountable for ensuring effective systems, processes and performance management arrangements are in place to deliver high standards of patient care, you will lead and support operational managers to hold service lines to account, ensuring there is effective operational support at all levels across the Clinical Group.

Reporting to the respective Clinical Group Chief Executives, you will role model values-led compassionate leadership, empower others in decision making and enable our teams to make the most valuable contribution, all leading to a high performing, inclusive, open and transparent culture.

In doing so, you will work closely with your Clinical Group senior leadership team to drive forward the delivery of ambitious targets founded on the curiosity to seek ways in which to continually improve performance and ensure the achievement of operational targets and high-quality care.

So, if you are passionate about shaping clinical services for the people of Manchester and beyond, this could be your next and best career move.
• As a highly motivated, hard-working and self-confident individual with a drive to deliver and a commitment to excellence across all areas, you will drive forward transformation, modernisation and innovation across the Clinical Group, promoting a culture of continuous service improvement.
• You will have a successful track record in a senior operation and / or performance role, delivering high quality results within a complex environment or sector, preferable within the NHS, eager for this new challenge.
• With impressive evidence of developing and implementing transformation programmes, including the management of service change, organisational development, outcome and operational process improvement and cost reduction, you will utilise proven approaches and methodologies to improve management of performance across the Clinical Group.
• It goes without saying, as an open communicator, consistently approachable to colleagues and an effective listener.
• You will be a dynamic, innovative, compassionate and inclusive leader using a positive, strong influencing and coaching style, inspiring others with a vision focused on high standards of patient care, safety and efficient and effective use of resources.
• Finally, with a commitment to promoting excellence at an MFT level as well as supporting the success of the Clinical Group, you will ensure the Clinical Group’s operational objectives are clear and that robust delivery plans are in place to deliver these objectives.

Bringing together 10 hospitals & community services from across Manchester, Trafford & beyond, we champion collaborative working & transformation, encouraging our 30,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you’ll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.

We’ve also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient & staff experience, operational effectiveness & driving research, and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system.

We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre & Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
