Summary
About the role
Housing Options is looking for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover team member to join our busy service. You will be responsible for promoting joint working between the Council and private landlords and letting agencies. As an innovative, motivated, excellent communicator, you will assist households who have been accepted by the authority as at risk of homelessness or homeless to move into the private rented sector.
You will promote a range of incentives to landlords to encourage them to let their properties to potentially homeless/vulnerable households. You are required to offer intense management where appropriate & negotiate with landlords and tenants to avoid tenancy breakdowns.
You will need to be enthusiastic and hardworking and have the ability to organise your own workload and multi-task. You will be responsible for liaising both internally and externally with partners.
The post requires strong and effective communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work within a team or independently while representing Thanet District Council in a professional manner.
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks
