Summary
A Vacancy at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Radiologist post, with an interest in MSK.
This post results from a combination of expansion of service and evolving developments in the related clinical disciplines including orthopaedics, rheumatology and physiotherapy. The post will be fixed term 12-month contract, with the potential for a substantive post in the future.
Croydon Healthcare NHS Trust (CHS) is a busy DGH with a strong and developing musculoskeletal regional network and the current service links with all aspects of general musculoskeletal work including spinal surgery, bone health and local sarcoma services.
The locum MSK imaging post is full-time, comprising a strong musculoskeletal component as well as general radiology in the main department. There are currently three Consultant MSK Radiologists, two full time and one part time commitment.
The post will include provision for diagnostic MSK and general cross sectional reporting (including acute and cold reporting), ultrasound and musculoskeletal intervention (including guided injections, arthrograms, hydrodilatations and biopsies). Participation in MDTs including sarcoma, musculoskeletal and trauma/orthopaedic meetings will be encouraged. All consultants have access to home working capability.
Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital (CUH) and Purley War Memorial Hospital. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home-birthing team.
Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.
Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after people of all ages across Croydon and our Children’s Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital.
We are a very close-knit and friendly organization where every one of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We strongly believe that our employees are our greatest asset.
The post is available with an illustrative job plan of 10 programmed activities: 8.5 Direct Clinical care sessions and 1.5 SPA. There is a 1 in 14 on-call commitment, with overnight cover (8pm to 8am) provided by a tele-radiology service.
The job plan may be adapted by agreement, with the possibility of part-time working.
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCST, at the time of interview for the post
