Job Description

The salary will be pro rata the part-time hours worked.

Post 1 - 35 hours per week - Clydebank Health Centre

Post 2 - 21 hours per week - Vale Health Centre

Post 3 - 17.5 hours per week - Clydebank Health Centre

We are looking to welcome enthusiastic and compassionate Care at Home Workers to join our expanding Re-ablement and Hospital Discharge team within the West Dunbartonshire Locality.

As an integral member of the team, you will work in collaboration with colleagues from West Dunbartonshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to promote independence and well being following illness or injury. Your duties will include supporting people to participate in activities of daily living in their home and local area, in line with their personal support needs and goals.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who are patient and empathetic with skills in communication and problem solving. The role is community-based therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

All successful candidates should have an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare or equivalent or be willing to work towards this to gain SSSC registration.

Requirements

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
