Location: Surrey – near Ascot
Salary: Starting at £50,000+ (up to £70k DOE)
A well-established independent veterinary practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in surgery to join their friendly and progressive team. This is a rare opportunity to become part of one of the few remaining independent practices in the area – where your voice is heard and your wellbeing is prioritised.
Role & Rota:
4-day working week
3 operating days per week
1 in 4 Saturday rota (9:00am – 12:00pm)
No Sundays, bank holidays, or out-of-hours work
20-minute consults
Morning, afternoon, and evening breaks scheduled daily
Admin and lunch time protected in the diary
Equipment & Clinical Standards:
Recently upgraded ultrasound, digital radiography, multiparameter monitors, syringe drivers, tonopen, and Phovia light therapy
Confidence-building clinics with a stress-free, patient-focused approach
Fully utilised RVNs supporting nurse consults (post-op checks, Cytopoint, Librela, Solensia, etc.)
Separate dog, cat, and rabbit wards
On-site collaboration with a visiting orthopaedic team
About the Team:
5 vets (equivalent to 3.5 FTEs) with special interests in internal medicine, surgery, ultrasound, behaviour, and exotics
5 skilled RVNs with individual clinical focuses
Head Nurse with referral-level experience
3 dedicated ANAs ensuring optimal behind-the-scenes efficiency
Supportive and proactive reception team
Forward-thinking Practice Manager with a strong commitment to team wellbeing
Regular bi-monthly team catch-ups
