Summary

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Small Tool Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and testing of various small tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working condition and comply with safety standards, including Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small tools such as drills, grinders, generators, disc cutters, and vacuums. And all types of 2&4 stroke petrol engines and various diesels
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with tools and equipment efficiently.
• Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance to avoid tool breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• PAT Testing: Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure electrical safety compliance.
• Inventory Management: Manage tool inventory, order replacement parts, and ensure all tools are accounted for and in proper working order.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all tools meet safety standards and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and PAT tests performed.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and repairing various small tools and equipment.
• PAT Testing Certification: Certification in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is required.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and fix issues quickly.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise work and ensure tools are repaired correctly.
• Communication: Good communication skills to coordinate with other team members and report on tool status.
Education and Experience:
• Education: NVQ qualifications required. Additional technical training or certification in tool repair
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role ,along with knowledge of specific tools and equipment used in the construction industry.
Role: Full Time
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am until 16.30pm and Friday 8.00am until 15.30am. Plus, overtime as and when required.
