Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Homeless Service - Ashton View Project in West Dunbartonshire Council for a Project Support Worker to join the team.

The Ashton View project provides a high-quality support service for vulnerable homeless individuals transitioning from temporary to permanent or other suitable long-term accommodation.

Joining our team of Project Workers, you will develop positive relationships with the people that we support, focusing on their strengths and aspirations. You will also support people to develop life skills and any other skills that aid independence. The successful candidates will work as part of a team and take responsibility for the delivery of high quality care to people who are facing homelessness.

If you have an appropriate professional qualification (SVQ Level 3 health and Social Care or have an HNC in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification ), good knowledge of both homelessness and the issues surrounding homelessness, we look forward to receiving your application.

Requirements

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
