Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
For September 2025, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of History to join our vibrant Humanities department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is a temporary, one year contract to cover a maternity leave.
This role could involve teaching a small number of lessons across the Humanities faculty.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver engaging and challenging History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
You will be encouraged to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
The candidate will be expected to support students to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an imaginative, inspiring and creative teacher to work in a supportive, energetic and innovative school where students achieve well and which is highly regarded in the local community.
Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, we welcome applications from individuals who are committed to making a difference to our students at Testwood School.
What the school offers its staff
We are proud of our traditions, such as our House system, but we also embrace change, seek to learn from best practice elsewhere, and prioritise the professional development of our staff.
We do this not just to improve our effectiveness as a school, but also because we recognise that learning and development are as important to staff as they are to our students here at Testwood School.
Commitment to safeguarding
Testwood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant pre-employment checks.
