Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

GORSE SCITT is seeking to recruit an inspirational, well-qualified, experienced, and passionate colleague to the position of Lead Mentor. This new role will further strengthen our Outstanding School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provision.

The Lead Mentor will play a crucial role in supporting trainee teachers throughout their training year at GORSE SCITT and ensuring they are fully prepared to transition seamlessly into their first year of teaching. Providing exceptional support to our trainees in all aspects of the programme is paramount and will be central to this role. It is essential that the Lead Mentor can build and maintain strong relationships with both trainees and partner schools and communicate with clarity and precision.

Potential applicants should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience in professional development, particularly in supporting trainee teachers.
• Exemplary standards of integrity, behaviour, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• A commitment to safeguarding and to the welfare of children and young people.
