A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant SENDCo (Intervention Programme and Referrals) within the SEND team. You must be a team player and committed to all four broad area of special educational needs and disabilities.
The purpose of the role is to work as a member of the Church Hill Learning Support team under the direction of the SENDCo, to provide care and supervision using detailed SEND knowledge and specialist skills to support the personalised learning and development of pupils. You will be working with teaching staff to help with analysing progress data and then leading the Intervention Provision (Literacy/Numeracy/ SEND well-being programmes) for identified SEND / emerging SEND pupils.
You will also assist with the extensive SEND paperwork processes and referrals to numerous specialist agencies within all four broad areas of SEND needs (Code of Practice 2015).
You will co-ordinate, plan and deliver a time tabled accelerated progress provision aimed at monitoring and evaluating student progress, identifying strategies to address underachievement, and contributing to school-wide targets. This will include literacy, numeracy and enhanced alternative provision.
Knowledge of the Worcestershire County Council Graduated Approach, EHCNA / EHCP processes and Umbrella Pathway referral process would be an advantage.
