Renfrewshire Council operates a wide range of services to maintain the tree and woodland landscape across the area. We are using new technologies and new ways of working to deliver better services and better value.

The Neighbourhood Services team is part of the Council’s wider Environment, Housing and Infrastructure team and employs over 120 people operating 50 specialist vehicles maintaining the built and natural environment in the area. This includes ground maintenance, street sweeping, maintaining road verges, cemetery operations, arboricultural, sports pitches and more.

This role will involve conducting both reactive and proactive tree inspections in order to prescribe appropriate work recommendations to effectively mitigate foreseeable risks. This will involve working with a wide range of internal and external customers and front-line service managers to deliver an effective tree management service.

You will be part of a specialist team that is committed to delivering arboricultural services to the residents, communities and businesses of Renfrewshire and your day-to-day work will improve the environment that people live and work in.

Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certification, Evidence of continuing, relevant, professional development, Relevant experience of a wide range of tree inspection and management activities and Wide knowledge of tree species, fungi and disease identification are essential.

Wide knowledge of legislations and British Standards relating to Arboriculture and Silviculture, knowledge of IT programmes, effective interpersonal, problem solving, organisational, communication skills are essential.

Knowledge of applicable computer packages, GIS applications, or other equivalent are desirable.
