We are delighted to announce a new 16 bed service based in Doncaster that will welcome patients from Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.



The unit will support patients with complex mental health with a focus on rehabilitation, patients may be in the service for up to 12 months and through a multi-professional approach will receive recovery focussed care. This is a rare opportunity to work within a setting built with current understandings of therapeutic environments and trauma-informed care.

Our Service is committed to working in partnership to deliver high quality care and a recovery-based approach to mental health services. We use the Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

Our new way of working embodies a 'One Team' approach. You will work with a dedicated and supported multiprofessional team which includes Psychology, Nursing, AHPs and Psychiatry, as well as other key Multidisciplinary members in the Service. Delivering excellent care and treatment to the people we support and their families. You will also be providing supervision and mentoring to Occupational Therapists and Assistants.

The therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, co-ordinated CPD programme including a robust supervision structure, care group meetings, Trust wide and core competence training, and an annual conference. Staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy.

· Accountable for leading and delivering high-quality occupational therapy care within a defined clinical area or pathway – Inpatient High Dependency Unit

· Responsible for providing expert clinical practice with advanced clinical reasoning

· Provide clinical leadership and supervision to support and develop staff within their work

· Lead evaluation and development of clinical practice within the specialism/ service area ensuring compliance with national and local policy, guidelines and frameworks

· Develop the evidence base for practice through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity and apply this to clinical practice

· Assist and support operational managers and professional leads in the improvement and modernisation of services

· To represent occupational therapy, as required, at management level and participate in strategic developments
