Summary
Are you a passionate History Teacher ready to bring the past to life in a dynamic classroom? A School in Havering is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 - and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You'll work within a supportive Humanities department committed to delivering a broad, inclusive, and thought-provoking curriculum that challenges students and fosters independent thinking.

Key Responsibilities
•
Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons at KS3 and KS4 (and possibly KS5)
•
Plan and assess in line with school policies and curriculum expectations
•
Inspire students with creative approaches to historical enquiry and interpretation
•
Monitor and track student progress to ensure high achievement
•
Support extracurricular activities such as history clubs or school events
•
Contribute to the wider school and department improvement plans
Qualifications and Experience
•
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•
Experience teaching History in a secondary school
•
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for making history accessible
•
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
•
ECTs welcome - full mentoring and induction provided
•
A commitment to inclusive, student-centred education
