Summary
Dual Skilled Technician
Contract role
Manchester - Ardwick Depot
Start date - ASAP
Inside IR35
Shift work - Nights 8pm until 6am
Duties & Responsibilities:
Carry out service and train preparation of the class 185 fleet - Fuelling of the units, Check fluid levels(Coolant, Oil), CET - tanking and operation of Controlled Emission Toilet, Unit inspection - checks, Train Prep ensuring unit is safe to enter passenger service.
With minimal supervision, undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan maintenance in accordance with the Siemens Rolling Stock VMI.
Carry out Component repair
Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required
Knowledge and experience
Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles.
Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate.
Basic knowledge of IT systems.
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
Understanding of train safety related systems.
Understanding of the requirements of the operational railway.
Understanding of Health and Safety regulations including bio-hazards, Control of Substances. Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and manual handling
