Summary

ROLE SUMMARY
The Football Department at Leeds United is working to leverage data to enhance decision making from analysis and recruitment to performance and medicine. We are looking for individuals who will transform our end users' workflows and decision-making processes through a central football platform.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with the Football Data Platform Lead to design and build a new, scalable football intelligence platform.
• Develop and maintain robust backend services (Python, Node, AWS) and elegant, user-friendly frontend applications (React, TypeScript).
• Establish good development practices and contribute to the long-term maintainability of the platform


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through to production.
• A track record of building full-stack applications.


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
• High-level proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway, Airflow, Redshift).
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Python for backend services and data workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• You have an understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation)
