Crynodeb
This role sits within our wheelchair service, you will be dealing with incoming and outgoing calls throughout the day (internal and external) to and from patients, other employees, managers and members of the public. You will assist wheelchair service team members in clinical area with technical wheelchair related tasks. You willbuild on core skills and improve understanding and skill set through supervision by the team.
This position is open to care leavers.
· Dealing effectively with first point of contactand non-clinical queries and providing routine information orally, in writing and/or electronically.
· To provide an excellent service as the first point of contact with the service for patients, GP’s and other membersof the public
· To provide administrative support and assistance to a team. To ensure telephone queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, relay messages to staff accurately via electronic and direct methods
· Duties will include dealing with ad hoc patient queries.
· Updating and maintaining of databases and use of IT systems, including SystmOne
· Working as an effective member of the team to deliver the service Participate and assist in evaluation and feedback.
· To work on any other projects or other work in the department as requested by the team leader/manager.
· Work with members of the team to ensure stock levels are maintained this may include travel to our approved repairer.
· Assist technician, engineer in the performance of simple repair and fitting of equipment.

· Attend clinics and act as support to clinical team.
· Any other tasks as required that are commensurate with the role
· Ability to plan, prioritise and when necessary re-prioritise own workload to ensure agreed timescales are achieved.
· Using judgement, empathy and tact to assess situations as they arise and take the appropriate action, escalating to the appropriate manager when necessary.
· To contribute to the delivery of a caring service focused on recognising, understanding and meeting the individual needs of the service user.
· To present a calm, efficient and friendly manner on the telephone and respond to anxious, angry or abusive people appropriately.
· To keep patients informed if there are delays.
· Be aware of the requirements for confidentiality of patient’s information and follow correct procedures.
· To participate in performance development with manager and agree training and development priorities
· To attend all mandatory training as required.
