Are you ready to be the difference in a pupil's life?

We're looking for a compassionate and resilient Class Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision in Thurrock this September. This full-time, permanent post offers the chance to work with pupils who've experienced barriers to education and need someone who believes in them - someone like you.

As a Class Teacher in this setting, you'll deliver a flexible, engaging curriculum designed to meet students at their level and support their progress in learning and wellbeing. You'll be working in smaller class groups, enabling stronger relationships and a greater focus on individual progress.

You'll be joining a team that values restorative practice, inclusion, and holistic education. The school offers robust professional development opportunities, strong staff collaboration, and the chance to truly impact young lives every day.

In return, you'll receive a competitive annual salary with pension, and a work environment built on purpose, trust, and growth.

Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to individual and group needs

Create a safe, supportive learning space for vulnerable young people

Adapt the curriculum to suit a diverse range of learning profiles

Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour

Track student progress and implement timely interventions

Engage in collaborative planning and staff development

Support the school's inclusive, child-centred ethos

Qualifications and Experience

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience working in PRU, SEMH, AP, or SEND settings is advantageous

Strong differentiation and classroom management skills

A nurturing, adaptable, and reflective teaching approach

High emotional resilience and patience

Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

SENDirect and our partner school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants must undergo enhanced DBS checks and provide at least two references. Applicants must currently have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorships are not available.
