About the Role

We are an accountancy and finance recruitment specialist partnering with a dynamic and rapidly expanding accountancy firm situated south of Birmingham. Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and LLPs, primarily from trial balances and manual client records.

• Compilation of consolidated accounts for small and medium-sized groups.

• Preparation of corporation tax returns and performance of simple VAT return reviews.

• Generation of management accounts and financial reports, including cash flow projections.

• Direct liaison with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored accounting solutions.

• Assistance in the preparation of billing proposals and review of contracts, including cross-border tax considerations.

• Support and mentorship of junior staff, reviewing their work on bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management reporting.

• Addressing external auditor queries and assisting with ad-hoc projects such as valuations, due diligence, and forensic work.

• Development and management of your own work schedules and plans, aiming for progression to a supervisory role.

Attributes, Requirements & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a practice environment, preparing statutory accounts.

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Competent in using accounting software such as Xero; experience with Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 is advantageous.

• Strong awareness of technology and its application in accounting.

• Self-motivated with the ability to apply relevant skills to new scenarios.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus.

• Demonstrates excellent analytical and research skills.
