Summary

Job purpose

I am looking for a Support Worker with a friendly and gentle attitude to provide a safe and clean environment, ideally within their own home, to support me and give my parents some respite. My Support Worker will assist me with all aspects of care such as eating, drinking, nappy changing and communication. I would also like for them to play with me!

About me

I am a bubbly and playful 5-year-old little girl diagnosed with Autism. I enjoy playing with toys!

I have a profound level of learning disability, and I require 24/7 assistance.

The successful candidate will report to my parents who will offer full support in a smooth transition.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Building a trusted bond with playful interactions

· Assisting with eating and drinking

· Changing nappy and assisting with cleaning (i.e. washing hands)

· Clear communication including updating parents

Summary terms and conditions

· Hours, days and times of work: 8 hours per week in half terms with a possibility of more hours in the summer holidays. Flexible days and times.

· Pay rate: £12.21 per hour

· Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).

· Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.

· Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).

· Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.

The post is subject to the following

· Background check: If the successful candidate meets the requirements to support the child in their own home, a ‘home based’ DBS check may be required, and other members of the household may also require a DBS check, if applicable.
