Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support for pupils with physical and medical needs, including hygiene, feeding, physiotherapy, and behaviour support.
- Assist students during lessons, encouraging engagement and independence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive learning environment, including managing hygiene areas and resources.
- Supervise students during non-classroom times such as breaks and trips.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and parents to ensure individual care plans are followed and documented.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and student coaching programme.
Essential Requirements
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Experience or understanding of care-related roles.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
Desirable
- Relevant care experience or first aid training.
- DfE Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (completed or willingness to complete).
