About Journeying Support Services Limited (JSS)

JSS is a CQC registered specialist provider of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Services to young people and adults in and around Greater London.

JSS support individuals to turn misadventures and hurdles into positive adventures that provide us with well-being and enable a life well led are the essences of quality of life.

Job Role

1. To provide a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) focused to children, young people and adults who live with autism and learning disabilities.
2. Ensuring that your PBS led support at all times promotes Human Rights and does never enforcing personal values upon others while still promoting values and beliefs that support independence
3. Promoting good communicate with the people we support and others, including sometimes advocating for the people we support to enable their voice to be heard and their needs and wishes met
4. Promoting daily living skills including managing finances, shopping, cooking and accessing community-based activities that both support wellbeing and promote independence.
5. Support individuals with their social and physical activities, work, college or university, and staying in touch with family
6. Support individuals to book and go to appointments such as interviews, medical screenings, or appointments about housing or finances
7. Support individuals to manage their finances
8. Support individuals by offering support when they are distressed and/or displaying behaviour that challenges the service
9. Support individuals who live with others to make agreements about sharing parts of their home
10. Support individuals with tasks around the house such as shopping, cleaning, decorating, gardening and cooking,
CQC Regulated Activities
11. Support individuals with personal care such as using the toilet, showering or bathing, and dressing,
12. Support individuals using person centred care to monitor their health, for example weighing themselves, taking their body temperature, or keeping track of diet, periods, or bowel movements

You will need

a. An interest in helping other people, regardless of their condition.
b. The ability to communicate clearly and sensitively when talking to people and their families.
c. Good listening skills.
d. Great problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
e. Good time management skills to be able to support the needs of multiple people.
f. The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct in the social care sector.
g. The ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
h. A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
i. Being empathetic towards everyone.
j. The ability to make good, positive relationships with people and their families.
k. The ability to communicate with other healthcare professionals.
l. Great verbal and written communication skills.
m. A non-judgemental attitude regardless of a person’s needs.
n. The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
