Join our new Speech, Language and Communication Provision! This exciting opportunity is your chance to make a real positive impact to children with communication and interaction needs.

Our Opportunity

East Whitby Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced SEND Teacher to join our ambitious and committed team. Following on from the success of our Pegasus Class, we are expanding our SEND and alternative provision offering to include a new targeted provision that has a specific focus on Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

Next year we anticipate that we will have 6 children with significant and complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Your role is to be their class teacher and to lead teaching and learning. The appointed candidate will work alongside our SENCo and will be well-supported by the Senior Leadership Team and The Enquire Learning Trust who are committed to providing the very best teaching and learning for all our children and are ambitious for their achievement.

We are looking to appoint someone who:

• Speech, Language and Communication specific experience and qualifications are desirable but not essential
• is an experienced teacher of children with complex SEND
• is passionate about the rights of children with SEND and ambitious for their achievement every day
• shows compassion, resilience and patience in their care for children with SEND
• holds every child and their family in the highest possible regard and lead by example, having high expectations of what every child can achieve
