We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for you to join our team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Physiotherapist within our Musculoskeletal department at University Hospitals Dorset. Moreover, Dorset boasts the advantage of close affiliations with two local Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), providing valuable educational opportunities for healthcare professionals in the region.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Spinal clinics at either Poole Hospital or Christchurch Hospital, playing a vital part in the Dorset 'Triage and Treat' service across University Hospitals Dorset. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with spinal conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary spinal and rheumatology team to provide high-quality care, contributing to the wellbeing of the Dorset community.

In these roles, you'll provide your clinical expertise within Advanced Practice spinal clinics, where you'll play a key role in determining the most appropriate course of action for patients' care. This includes making decisions regarding both surgical and conservative approaches for patients with spinal conditions.
Our practitioners will utilise their clinical reasoning skills to conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' presenting issues, interpret examination findings, develop working and differential diagnoses, and create, communicate, and implement management plans. These plans will be tailored to meet the individual needs, goals, and preferences of patients while also considering the availability of local services and adhering to relevant local and national guidelines and policies.

Your responsibilities include independently assessing and managing patients, utilizing specialized techniques and resources. You will efficiently plan and oversee episodes of care, collaborate with professionals and agencies, and provide crucial support to patients, carers, and staff. Furthermore, you will take a leading role in service development and design, emphasising values-based care and evidence-based practices. Your expertise will be shared through contributing to education, development, audits, service evaluations, and research initiatives.
