Summary
Role: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Meath School, Chertsey, Surrey
Salary: £33,809 -£37,157 per annum dependent on experience
Working Pattern: Permanent contract, Full time (35 hours per week), 42 weeks per year (term time plus up to 3 weeks of work during school closure periods to be used flexibly throughout the year) with 10 weeks paid holiday. Part time applications will also be considered.

Role Overview:
Meath School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves managing a caseload of pupils with severe and complex speech, language, and communication needs. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with staff and families, contribute to curriculum development, and make a meaningful impact on pupils’ lives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload, conducting assessments, devising therapy programs, and writing reports.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support students’ learning.
Deliver therapy sessions, including group work and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) planning.
Contribute to the development of a communication-rich school environment.
Provide training to staff and parents, sharing your expertise to enhance pupil outcomes.
Participate in professional development, ensuring best practices are upheld.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree and HCPC/RCSLT registration.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified SLT, ideally within a school setting and working with paediatric caseloads.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with experience in administering assessments and managing a varied caseload.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of severe and complex speech and language disorders, as well as familiarity with AAC and dysphagia practices.
