As an LSA at Barnett Wood, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children at the heart of everything we do. JOB OVERVIEW: As an LSA, you will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to support children who require additional help with their learning. You will provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, both in and out of the classroom, helping them to develop their confidence and abilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children on a personal level. You will be patient, empathetic, and proactive in your approach to supporting learning, with a keen eye for identifying barriers to learning and finding effective solutions. You will also be able to work collaboratively with a range of professionals, including teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external agencies. This role could potentially suit someone who is looking for their first step into an education-based career; we are able to support you with achieving nationally recognised qualifications and training through our apprenticeship levy. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Working with class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning • Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis • Lunchtime supervision • Supporting assessment and evidencing learning • Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners • Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability WHAT WE OFFER: • Term-time hours, plus 3 Inset days • The opportunity of working within a supportive, friendly environment in this well run and respected school • Good opportunities for personal and career development • Pension Scheme • Employee benefits and access to employee assistance programme THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above. • Previous experience or childcare experience. • A proven ability to work on their own initiative. • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults. • The ability to use relevant technology/equipment. • A can-do attitude. • A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
