Urgent Care Services offers short-term health, therapy, and care support to help service users remain at home. It treats acutely unwell individuals to prevent hospital admissions and aids hospital discharges, operating 24/7, 365 days a year.

Night care includes end-of-life support, catheter care, and urgent unplanned care provided by a dedicated nursing team. Recovery at home is proven to be the best way to regain independence, with enablement and rehabilitation as priorities.

KCHFT is collaborating with East Kent Hospitals University Trust to develop a virtual ward for people with acute respiratory infections or conditions like COPD. Patients discharged early will be monitored at home via remote technology, such as apps, wearables, and medical devices, with support from consultants, specialist GPs, and advanced practitioners. The specific technology is still being developed with patient and colleague input.
