The Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.
This role is for 12hrs per week, however we can be flexible and will be willing to look at offering more if you are the right candidate. Shifts will be between 9.30am and 6pm depending on our clients needs.
About the Client & Your Responsibilities
Our client is a warm and engaging lady in her 40s who lives in her family home and requires support due to ongoing health conditions. This level of support is vital to maintaining both her independence and overall wellbeing.
She enjoys a rich and varied life with many interests, including music, meditation, watching TV soap operas, and spending time outdoors, particularly walking in nature, which she loves.
As a personal care assistant, you will support her with a range of tasks that contribute to her daily living and quality of life. These include assisting with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and maintaining hygiene, as well as preparing healthy, nutritious meals and helping with household duties like cleaning, laundry, and shopping. You will also play a key role in enabling her to participate in social and leisure activities and in offering companionship and emotional support to ensure she feels safe, included and content.
Your responsibilities will include supporting her mobility and carrying out safe moving and handling practices, administering medication, monitoring her general health (such as blood pressure and temperature) and accompanying her to medical appointments when needed. You should be friendly, compassionate and a strong communicator with the ability to use initiative and respond effectively in different situations.
It’s important to our client that her relationships with family and friends are supported, so you should share her values around inclusion and connection. While being a driver is not essential, a mobility car is available for taking her out.
A commitment to ongoing training and development is expected, as well as ensuring all daily log notes and records are kept up to date.

All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at minimum wage.
