Youth Support Worker – Permanent Nights | EBD Residential Home
Location: NG13, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £31,000 - £34,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Social Care & Education are looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Youth Support Worker for a permanent night shift role in our well-established NG13-based EBD residential home.
The Role
As a Youth Support Worker (Nights), you will play a key part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional support of the young people in our care throughout the night. You will work closely with a dedicated team of support workers, team leaders, and management to maintain a calm, structured, and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emotional support and supervision to young people during the night.
• Respond to any incidents or emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
• Record and report all significant events and observations in line with safeguarding and reporting procedures.
• Carry out household tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Ensure all young people are supported in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Work collaboratively with your team and contribute to daily handovers and reports.
• Be a consistent, caring, and reliable role model for the young people in our home.
Essential Requirements:
• At least 12 months of recent UK-based experience working in a similar EBD residential childcare setting.
• Level 2 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices.
• A genuine desire to help children and young people reach their potential.
