Cook/Chef - 40 hours per week, to include alternate weekends, based at Coppelia House, Moretonhampstead.

It’s Not Just Cooking. It’s Comfort, Connection, and Care.

We’re looking for more than someone who knows their way around a kitchen. We’re looking for someone who knows that a good meal can be the highlight of someone’s day. Someone who understands that food is memory, comfort, and care - all served on a plate.

As our Cook, you’ll be cooking for people who’ve lived full, incredible lives - people who deserve food that feels like home.

Yes, it’s a busy kitchen; Yes, you’ll be working to dietary needs, preferences, and routines. But what you’re really doing? You’re making someone feel seen, safe, and satisfied.

A bit about the role:

Plan and prepare and cook balanced, home-cooked meals tailored to resident's dietary needs
Ensure meals are presented well and served on time
Follow food safety, hygiene, and nutritional guidelines
Maintain a clean and well-organised kitchen
Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure resident's needs are met
Bringing warmth, pride, and maybe even a few laughs into the heart of the home.
What we're looking for:

An experience passionate Cook
Knowledge of food safety, allergies, and dietary requirements (e.g., soft diets, diabetic-friendly meals) - or a willingness to learn
Ability to work efficiently, independently and keeping calm under pressure
A caring and compassionate attitude
Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
A warm, friendly personality and a good sense of humour - it helps in a busy kitchen!
We can offer you:

A supportive team who understands the power of what happens in the kitchen.
A workplace where you’re not just the cook - you’re a valued part of our residents’ day.
Free DBS check
The use of ‘Flex Earn’ enabling you to access wages earnt in advance of pay day, viewing earnt wages in real time.
Free meals provided when working long shifts
Access to Peninsula Care Homes Mental Health First Aider; an external Confidential Care helpline for you and your family members; Peninsula Care Home’s ‘Whycare?’ app and Refer a Friend scheme
The chance to make a real impact through something as simple, and profound, as a warm meal.
This isn’t just cooking. This is care - with flavour, heart, and purpose.

If you believe food is one of the best ways to care for someone - we’d love to meet you.
