Learning Support Teacher, Lewis & Harris Schools (Sir E Scott School)
35 hours per week, Permanent Position
£43,164 - £53,448 per annum, inclusive of £2,859 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

Required on a permanent basis to implement the Council’s Inclusion Policy by working with schools and other agencies to support pupils with additional support needs. Whilst this post covers Lewis & Harris Schools, the initial deployment will be at Sir E Scott School.

You will be required to work collaboratively and in partnership with schools to support pupils with additional support needs, ensure the Council’s staged intervention process is implemented, advise on appropriate materials to allow pupils access to a differentiated curriculum and/or elaborated curriculum and regularly assess pupil’s educational, social, emotional and behavioural needs and devise and implement methods of effectively meeting those needs.

The successful candidate must have an appropriate degree / diploma in Teaching and GTC Scotland Registration and have teaching experience of pupils with a broad range of additional support needs.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children (Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme - mygov.scot).
