The Opportunity
Our client is one of the leading Nuclear Engineering Consultancies in the UK, with projects across the country. From Site decommissioning to Radioactive Waste Management and Transport, our client is embedded in some of the largest and most crucial projects in the Nuclear sector.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. You will be working out of one of our clients offices in Warrington on a Hybrid basis (2-3 days in the office).
Please note that the successful candidate must be eligible for, or already hold, UK Security Clearance. Therefore, we are unable to consider candidates who are outside of the UK or have lived in the UK for less than 5 years and require VISA Sponsorship.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Integrate with operational engineering multi-disciplines teams delivering projects at various phases, from FEED to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation in the UK.
- Delivering and managing technical studies/projects.
- Design of mechanical processes, from strategic and conceptual phases to detailed design and construction & commissioning phase support.
- Typical deliverables that will be issued:
- technical note
- Substantiation notes
- Mechanical flow diagrams and flow-sheets
- Mechanical drawings
- P&IDs
- Mechanical layout drawings
- Hazards and Malfunctions management
- Technical specification documentation review from supply chain.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject or equivalent experience
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience in the Nuclear sector is an advantage
The setting for the role:
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
