First Steps Day Nursery is located on site , for staff use, at Wexham Park Hospital and provides high quality care and education for children aged between 3 months and 5 years.
You will be joining an established friendly and talented team. We are open Monday to Friday between 06:45am and 5.30 pm for 51 weeks of the year and you would work an 8 hour shift each day starting at various times through the week between 6.30am and 5.30 pm.
We are looking for a qualified practitioner, but if you feel that you have the relevant attributes to work in Early year's we would love to see your application.
The Early Years Practitioner will work under the direction of the Nursery Manager to ensure the provision of high-quality, inclusive care and education for children aged 0–5 years. The post holder will support the planning and delivery of a stimulating early years curriculum, tailored to meet the developmental needs of each child. They will contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and thrive.
A key responsibility includes monitoring health and safety practices across the nursery, ensuring that all statutory and local requirements are met. This involves carrying out regular risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing appropriate control measures. The practitioner will ensure accurate documentation of safety processes and support the promotion of a safe culture throughout the setting.
The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, supporting children’s emotional, physical, and social development. They will also contribute to safeguarding and child protection duties in line with NHS and statutory guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and promoting the welfare of all children in their care.
