Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a team and influence the delivery of breast imaging services? An exciting secondment opportunity to cover maternity leave has arisen for an experienced and driven radiographer looking to further develop their leadership skills to join the team at the Nottingham Breast Institute.

The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary breast team based at the City Hospital Campus of the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. You will work in both clinical and admin roles providing operational and strategic leadership for the breast imaging team in the delivery of both the symptomatic and breast screening services, and have the opportunity to advance your leadership skills by leading the daily supervision of the breast imaging mammography team.

You will hold a Masters level mammography qualification (UK recognised) and be HCPC registered.

Mammography posts have a gendered protected character, due to the nature of the work. This is an occupational requirement, as a result the post is exempt under section 9; part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 and therefore only female applicants should apply.

You will have a sound knowledge of the NHS Breast Screening Service and significant experience of working as a mammographer within the NHS breast screening and symptomatic services.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients, their families and health professionals. You will
provide the daily operational leadership for the mammography team so previous experience in a supervisory capacity and a desire to develop your leadership skills further are essential.

You will need to be able to think quickly and strategically to delegate tasks appropriately as you problem solve and advise the team on a range of equipment and workflow issues to ensure the daily clinics run smoothly and that the team are well informed and supported. You will have
considerable experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

As a mammographer you will work clinically within both screening and symptomatic clinics.
