Facilities Manager

Location: York, YO1 7PX

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

The Facilities Manager will play a key role in overseeing the seamless operation of a prestigious, high-security site in a prime city centre location.

Leading a team that includes three security guards, three receptionists, a Catering Manager, and two catering assistants, this role demands a strong leader who can drive service excellence while fostering a collaborative working environment.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact, with involvement in planned preventive & predictive maintenance (PPPMs) and small works, as well as the chance to transform the customer service experience on-site.

The successful candidate will work closely with the client and other agencies, building strong relationships and ensuring the highest standards of service.

Given the nature of the site, security is paramount, and the Facilities Manager will be actively involved in site tours, inductions, and escorting procedures.

While there is an Assistant Manager on-site who manages the cleaning team, the Facilities Manager will not have direct responsibility for this area.

Instead, they will focus on delivering a Total Facilities Management (TFM) approach, with a particular emphasis on Hard FM, as upcoming project work will require a candidate with a strong technical background.

This role is perfect for a Facilities Manager—regardless of sector—who is eager to innovate and elevate service standards.

Customer service is at the heart of this role, making it ideal for someone with fresh ideas and a passion for transforming a high-profile site into a best-in-class workplace.

Opportunities for progression and professional development, including apprenticeships, are available as part of a supportive North East regional team.
