Duration : Permanent, Full Time

Job Purpose:

The Environmental Chargehand reports to the Area Supervisor and is responsible for the supervision of an allocated team, undertaking a variety of set duties within assigned areas concerned with Environmental Services. The jobholder may be required to undertake work in public parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, public roads, amenity areas and housing estates and other public open spaces.

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Proven ability to lead a team to achieve set tasks, delivering required results within a customer focused organisation.

Proven ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with a range of audiences including individuals at all levels within the organisation, businesses and the general public.

Proven ability to organise and prioritise workloads in order to deal with simultaneous demands and to achieve deadlines.

Proven ability to work proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior post.

Proven ability to use a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office and email.
