My client is an award-winning legal company and an employer of choice who is recognised as having a positive and inclusive culture. They plan to grow in the near future as they look to extend their loyal customer base in the local area.
Your new role
The role of the HR Advisor is to provide a professional HR service to all partners and staff within the firm. This is a generalist role covering all aspects of HR within the employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on HR operations, recruitment and employee relations.
- Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
- Administering and overseeing payroll instructions with the external payroll provider
- Reviewing and updating job descriptions and advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies
- Preparing job adverts, sourcing CVs, arranging interviews and actively engaging with hiring managers/partners, supporting first stage interviews and managing the candidate until offer
- Co-ordinating the appointment process for successful applicants
- Monitoring key recruitment metrics, such as turnover and retention rates
- Working with the business to negotiate terms and conditions of employment with staff
- Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes
- Using HRIS to access, input and compile data
- Suggesting new HR technology solutions to improve day-to-day operations (e.g. HRIS)
- Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
- Supporting the performance development review process (e.g. employee appraisal)
Working hours: 40 / week, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (including 1 hour lunch). Beyond induction, you will be able to WFH 50% per fortnight and 50% based in their Southampton office.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have at least 2 years' experience in a generalist HR / People Advisor role or similar as part of an HR / People team, ideally having worked in a corporate, professional services environment. Other sector experience will be considered, but excellent attention to detail and an ability to solve problems and improve processes are important. You must be CIPD qualified (level 5 minimum) or equivalent.
