Role Overview:
Working within the council’s Integrated Children and Families Service, the post holders will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent Family Hub reception services to residents and professionals working in Oldham and provide administration support for the service to deliver the Healthy Child and Family Hub Programmes. They will act as a key contact for all families who access the Family Hub, enabling access to services throughout Oldham.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide excellent customer service at all times by providing safe, warm, welcoming front of hub service that is fully accessible for users from diverse backgrounds
- To respond to service user enquiries by providing accurate, high-quality information and advice about Family Hubs and wider family support services including the provision of Council information, health, local and community information and programmes of activity. For example, Healthy Start and the early education entitlement.
- Helping service users with the use of ICT, new technologies and internet-based resources.
- Be responsible for ensuring the Family Hubs website is kept up to date on a weekly basis
- Be responsible for undertaking daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc Health and safety checks on the building, including room risk assessments, emergency lighting, legionella testing, fire exits, fire alarm tests. Including completion of weblog, logging and following up repairs
- Managing and maintaining child & family records (both paper based and electronic) according to the organisational policy and local standard operating procedure and in accordance with targets and agreed timescale .
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
- Sufficient literacy and numeracy to undertake the tasks and duties of the role
- Experience of using computer packages for word-processing, spreadsheets and databases, plus using the internet and sending/receiving e-mails
- Organisational skills to complete tasks to deadlines, re-prioritising own work if necessary
- Problem solving skills to interpret information / situations and solve straightforward problems
