Summary

Job Title: Court Usher
Location: Norwich Crown Court
Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to extend)
Pay: Weekly pay + holiday entitlement + pension access

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Court Usher to join the team at Norwich Crown Court.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the public sector, supporting the daily operations of the court and ensuring hearings run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist all court users, including members of the public, judiciary, jurors, and legal professionals

  • Prepare and clear courtrooms before and after hearings

  • Escort and support witnesses and other court visitors

  • Manage general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, scanning, and post handling

  • Operate office and court equipment (e.g. recording devices, franking machines, photocopiers)

  • Maintain stock of court forms and supplies

  • Answer phone calls and handle face-to-face enquiries

Requirements:
  • Previous admin or customer service experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable dealing with sensitive or confidential information

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems

  • Well-organised and reliable
