Behaviour Support Worker - Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Temp-to-Perm Opportunity at a New SEND School in LS9!

Are you passionate about supporting pupils with complex SEND needs? Do you thrive on building positive relationships, promoting restorative practice, and empowering young learners to regulate their emotions and behaviour?

We're working with a new SEND school in LS9 and seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to champion positive behaviour support, emotional regulation, and relational strategies.

About the Role:

This is a temp-to-perm position, offering an opportunity to grow and develop within the school. You'll work across pathways for pupils aged 4-16, ensuring their welfare, emotional wellbeing, and social communication needs are met. You'll coach and mentor staff, collaborate with parents and professionals, and provide targeted interventions that support pupils in their learning and personal development.

What You'll Be Doing:

· Leading on restorative practice and emotional regulation across the school

· Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs to manage their emotions and behaviour

· Coaching and mentoring staff on relational practice and behaviour strategies

· Working with parents, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams to support pupils' wellbeing

· Delivering targeted interventions, including Lego therapy, bereavement support, and Circle of Friends

· Monitoring and evaluating behaviour trends, ensuring effective intervention plans

· Responding to behaviour support calls via two-way radios and leading post-incident debriefings

· Ensuring the voice of every child is heard, documented, and valued

· Assisting with break and lunchtime supervision to maintain a safe and positive environment

· Complying with child protection policies and all aspects of safeguarding

· Experience in a similar or related role, supporting pupils with special educational needs

· A strong understanding of emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

· Someone passionate about restorative practice and building positive relationships

· A resilient team player who can coach and develop staff in relational strategies

· A professional who can effectively liaise with parents and external agencies

· Someone adaptable and proactive, ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils
